Every day I think to myself, how can I possibly keep up with it all? I mean, there is always so much to do and so much to see. Owning your own business is clearly the best thing and the worst thing all at the same time. Today I am writing with a heavy heart. No one will understand (other than other small business owners) how much work goes into your own business. But in the end it's all worth it because you get to make your own schedule and you are the one that gets to choose who to work with and why. You get to design our business the way you want. The long term benefits outweigh the short term pitfalls. You are never free from your business. You are never free from thinking about what you can do to make your clients happier so they will come back to you. You are never free.

Well sometimes I like to take a step back and realize why I am doing this. Why did I choose to have mown schedule? Why did I choose to stay at home with my kids? The answer is obvious and I don't have any regrets. EVER. Last week was the last week of school. I officially have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader. My daughter was none too quick to come home to tell me that. I can't believe how much time is passing and how quickly it goes by. I was fortunate enough last week to be able to document yet another time in my daughter's life while we were celebrating at an end of the year party at her school. She still refuses to swing herself by kicking her legs. I won't always be there to watch her swing and so today I tried to capture those moments and help her all at the same time.

She asked me to braid her hair that day. Not having more time other than to do a basic downward braid, I am glad she asked me. I love doing her hair and I love how long its getting. I love how it shines in the sun because it is still blond enough to do so. I love that she never wiped her face after the picnic lunch and she has chocolate all over her to show for it. Three cupcakes and begging for another. Make a momma cringe. I let her eat them because I love her and she will never get this specific opportunity again with this first grade class and on this perfect of a day. Later we went to her class to watch them clean out their desks and have fun with shaving cream. I am so grateful fro this moment in time.

Heather
