My Everyday: Continued | Placerville Lifestyle Photographer

Enjoy yourself. These are the good old days you are going to miss in years to come. ~Unknown

So unbelievably I am still trying really hard to complete my 365 project. Ya know- where I take a photo every day for a year? Well, let's just say that I am a few days behind but I am not sweating it. The coolest thing about it is that I am not sweating it actually. According to my previous post about starting the 365 project, I am right on schedule! I am trying my best and I am not giving up. I think I am about ten days behind. But actually I am not behind. I am right on track. I am doing what I love when I can find the time. I am trying to find moments in my daily life I would not have had otherwise shared had it not been for pictures. It doesn't matter to me if you understand the photo nor does it matter to me if you care about the subject. What matters to me is that it is a memory in my life that can never be taken away and it cannot be replaced. Some may leave me with happy feelings and others with sad feelings, all of which are ok. These feelings are my little secret. Only those that know me well may know some of these feelings without asking. I know this to be true- I am enjoying every minute of this life I am leading. Whether or not I show it daily, I am loving my life. My crazy busy schedule shows that I am trying to live it to its full potential and I want to remember these "good old days" for years to come. I want to hand these memories to my kids and say that we did that once. We went there once and we loved it. Can you say that to your kids? Are your memories fleeting glimpses of your actual memory? Don't let that happen to you!

So I have this fear... | Family Photographer Placerville

So I have this fear... Next year I am starting a 52 project. One picture a week for an entire year. Doesn't sound that hard right? I joined a group of very talented people and I have to say I am already intimidated. We all belong to this group called the NAPCP. If you only knew the talent in this group you would be intimidated too. Never feeling worthy to be in this group yet feeling honored that I am, in my heart I know there is nothing to fear. There is nothing to gain from this fear. There is nothing to lose from this fear. It's just there. What I do know is that it's not a competition. It's not about doing this project and gaining experience. It's not about being inspired by other's work (although that will surely happen anyway!) and it's not even about whether I finish or not. It's not about whether my images are quality or edited properly. It's not about me. What it is about is my family. My kids. My pets. My life. My life at this moment. My life next week and my life next month. It's ok if I don't complete it. It's ok if I can't finish one week or one month. It's ok. As long as I have tried and succeeded in the first week I have succeeded for me. The fears shall be washed away with warm hugs and kisses, with love and affection. As long as I have that, I have everything. I don't need anything else. If I were to die tomorrow or next month I know that I have documented something for sharing. No one will care about all of the above. The only hurdle I will have now is reminding myself of this daily. I don't think I will have a problem with that. Fun Family Times | Folsom Family-Children Photographer

"In the end,  it's not going to matter how many breath you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

--Shing Xiong

This last month has brought on a wide array or surprises and some disappointments and other life journey nonsense I would rather not discuss but in the end it all does't mean a darn thing. As long as I am happy, healthy and am able to physically watch my kids grow up right from under me, I am good. I am all good. This last month my kids started school. My daughter in 1st grade and my son in 4th grade it really makes you wonder how things get this way. How does time keep going on and on when I am not clearly ready of it?

With my son being at school, it meant that duckie would be lonely. I came home after school drop off and I found this. Yes, duckie would be less busy but at least he has a warm spot in the sun to rest for the majority of the day.

Later this last month we went to Apple Hill. For those of you that don't know- Apple Hill is an area around here that has lots of places to shop for fresh local fruits and veggies, plants, (MOSTLY APPLES) and get a few treats and crafts a long the way. Expect a lot of crazy out-of-towners to come up and not know how to drive on the windy roads we have here. Expect lots of crafters getting in the isles and making things hard to get around. Expect lots of yelling/screaming kids as you try and have a peaceful sit by the lake. Expect pure craziness when at Apple Hill. There are many farms to chose from but the best are always the busiest! This year we decided to go on "soft opening" weekend and there was virtually no one in sight. It was kinda creepy if you ask me!

My kids never sit quietly, let alone quietly together and never talking nicely to each other. Who took my children?? This is not a normal scene. They were probably just watching for the ducks. What cute ducks they are too.

Cutest Boy Girl Siblings Ever Portrait Session| El Dorado Hills Family-Children Photographer

I love mini portrait sessions with siblings. Its amazing what I can get them to do that their parents cannot while taking photos. Its inevitable- lets read the following scenario. Step 1: Mom states she wants a photo session for her kids only- not the entire family. Step 2: Complimentary consultation to discuss when and where. Mom makes a point in telling me that her kids hate being behind the camera and we may not get anything good out of the session--with a laugh. I laugh back telling mom that I have my ways of making kids cooperate with me. Step 3: The session takes place. Step 4: Magic happens. So if you like this session and want something similar---or nothing like this at all-- just give me a ring! I can customize any session to fit your needs and your wants. That is a bonus when you choose a professional photographer over a main stream photo studio. Just contact me today and we will set up something just for you.

Much love,

Heather
