Running around in her undies, she squealed as she saw the kitten. Now chasing the kitten, she realized that she may never get a hold of it. Life as a little is exciting and daunting all at the same time. Never knowing where to go and what to do, there is always so much to see.

It seems like yesterday that I was doing a portrait session for my friend Caitlynn. We used to work together for a couple years when I was in the veterinary business and have since stayed friends. I am so glad because she has become one of my favorite people. I am so lucky to have a friend like her. She is an amazing person and an amazing mom. Granted, her Type A personality would drive anyone crazy but in reality, her house is always clean and she always has a smile on her face. You can't say anything negative about that. We all should be so lucky.

Caitlynn was also the winner of my cutest kid contest which was a something I ran over on my Facebook page a while ago. The idea was that who ever had the most likes on their image would win a free Short Story Session with me. That girl had so many shares on her photo so she won! So this fall she wants to get portraits done with the girls while they go shopping for pumpkins! How cute is that? I can't tell you how excited I am for that opportunity.

Well, back to reality. It is so fun to think about this family looking at these images forever. They will have this Day in the Life with them always. They will forever remember how the girls looked in their matching swimsuits and how fun it was to pick plums from the tree in the yard. They will never forget how fun it was to sit at the picnic table that daddy made for them personally out of scrap wood. The moments won't be forgotten after the materials are gone. The feelings will always be the lasting element.

After spending a day with this family, not only have I gotten to know them better, but I look at these images and I see how much of a connection this family truly has with one another. It is so wonderful for me to see this young family getting along like this. They don't have it all when it comes to materials or purchases but they have all they need. No one can replace that feeling.

After the girls went down for their nap, it seemed like a great time to pack up and leave them be. Spending the day with them is something I will forever remember and forever be grateful for. Day in the Life sessions are the most fun thing ever. What do you want to do for your day?
