I was thinking about you the other day. The family that has no pictures of themselves since forever. I heard it from you the last time we spoke. You don’t have one picture of all of you together. Why is that?
Are you nervous to get in front of a camera?
Are you too busy to make time for one photo, even if it’s just with your phone?
Are you worried it will cost to much to hire a professional when you know that money is always an issue?
What is really holding you back?
Let’s explore these further.
You’re nervous. Ok I get it. Being in front of the camera can be quite nerve-racking. It feels like there is a lot of pressure and you don’t think you can handle one more thing on the list of your never-ending to-dos. The nervousness keeps you from being ok with photos for just one moment. One moment to let your guard down and trust. Or is it that you don’t trust? Do you not trust that the session will work out the way you expect? Maybe thats it? Trust is something you allow for friends and family. A strange photographer is not a friend nor is she family. She won’t capture your family in a way that is raw, organic, authentic. So you’re nervous. I get it.
You’re too busy. Thats a doozie. It’s been said that we all have the same amount of time in a day. We all have 24 hours to make a day count. When you subtract sleep, it gets much smaller. Especially for those of us that work as well. That decreases the amount of time by even more. Chores like laundry, running errands and eating all eat up the rest of that time. So when do you have fun? When do you make the conscious decision to put all that aside and do something that is just for you? Just for your family? A walk in the park, a day at the zoo, a camping trip for the weekend. There is your time. And how do you remember those times?
Alright, so you are worried about the cost of hiring a “professional photographer”. I mean, with the word professional in front it must mean a pretty penny right? I have heard it said that the value of the images far outweighs the cost of the service. I have also heard it said that the images don’t need to be quality for the meaning behind them to stand tall. I agree with both statements. That may shock you because you think I’m out for one thing, which is to sell my services. On the contrary, I am out for nothing but getting you the images you desire, that you will feel proud of and enjoy looking at every day. However you get to that point is up to you. Their here is to get you images you enjoy. I KNOW I can supply you with that. That I am confident of. I just need you to be confident with me ok?
So I hear your excuses about why you haven’t had a photo session with your family. I hear your issues. I totally understand. I am you. I also know that you can overcome these reasons. You can overcome the reasons for not doing this for YOU. Stop making the excuses and just contact me already. It’s at least worth the 15 minute phone conversation to see if this is for you.
P.S. I want to leave you with one quote from a recent client Sara Porter; “My family and I had so much fun on our adventure with Heather! She let us and our girls do what we wanted. She is such an easy-going laid-back person and that made this experience even better. I always worry about how awkward getting pictures will be but nothing about our experience was awkward! It was very fun! Definitely will be booking again!”.
Repeat after me: “I will never again leave my photographer to chance.” All the hugs to you on this gorgeous fun filled day.
