"There's nothing like a day in the backyard to make a really nasty bathtub ring"

Author: Dee Ann Stewart from "What Spock Forgot"

This month has been a little rough. My business is kinda taking off and I have been so busy that I haven't had the time to take personal photos. This will change next month! I need to take pictures for myself and it makes me happy. Looking back at this month I realized I don't actually have that many photos to share. But, the ones I do have are keepers.

My kids are notoriously cranky when it comes to playing outside. Now when I was younger I was outside ALL THE TIME. Riding my bike, playing house, running around our property and playing on our play set. We also had this hill (we called it a "butte") in our back yard that we would run up and down and it had a lot of large rocks on the top that we would run around and fall off of and really PLAY with. Our imaginations were everything to us back then. Now today- you would think I was killing my kids when I tell them to go outside and play. They get so weirded out by it! They have this incapability to stay out there for more than 20 minutes without complaining. It makes me sick to my stomach. To think my kids won't have the same type of memories as I have playing outside is truly something sad to me. Well on this one day....this one day... I caught them having a good time. It was amazing and I couldn't take enough photos. I hope that there will be many more to come. Lets PRAY...or shall I say PLAY.

The other thing is that this month I have been kinda down in the dumps! One of my favorite lenses broke and I have not been in the mood to really photograph anything with my "big girl camera" but I was still being inspired by the things I was seeing outside so I started to use my iPhone. I was so amazed by the images I was getting from my phone. A little "phone editing" and wa-la! A beautiful picture! These next images are those from around my town---which I truly love and this time of year is the best because everything is green and pretty. It doesn't last long so you gotta catch it while you can. I sure am glad I did. The outdoors are wonderful! Have you spent some time outside recently?
